"Allen has not missed a game in two seasons with the Bills. He started slowly last fall but came on strong in the final weeks of the season. Doug started the final eight games of the 1974 season, replacing former Penn State teammate John Skorupan who was injured.
Doug has seen action as both an outside and a middle linebacker. He had two key pass interceptions against Cleveland in 1974. He was credited with two fumble recoveries in '74 and one more last year.
A starting outside linebacker for Penn State's unbeaten Orange Bowl champions, Doug earned first-team All-East honors as a senior. He alternated as a regular at defensive tackle for the Nittany Lions in 1970. Doug missed the entire 1971 season with a head injury and made the switch to outside linebacker in 1972. His senior statistics included two pass interceptions for 30 yards.
Doug lives in East Aurora. His Penn State degree is in labor studies and his college academic average was 3.37 (on a scale of 4.0)."
