Running Back
No. 25
North Carolina State
"Hooks missed the early part of the 1975 preseason, and then an ankle injury in the fifth preseason game put him out for the rest of the year when he was placed on injured reserve. His preseason statistics included the longest kickoff return (52 yards) of the Bills preseason. He had three kickoff returns for 94 yards, one punt return for eight yards, and two rushes for four yards.
Roland was a versatile performer at North Carolina State where he established a record for average yards per rush (5.6 yards, 1,368 yards in 246 carries). He led the Wolfpack with 850 yards in 1974 while scoring 17 touchdowns. Roland also holds the N.C. State record of 981 kickoff return yards. In his first varsity game he returned a kickoff 80 yards.
Roland is a history major who enjoys handball."
